Sweet Stevens to Present 20th Annual Stevens Memorial Legal Seminar at ‘23 PAPSA Conference

For the 20th consecutive year, the attorneys of Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams LLP will present the Paul Stevens Memorial Legal Seminar at the 2023 Pennsylvania Association of Pupil Service Administrators (PAPSA) conference. The 44th annual conference, “Pupil Services: It Takes a Village,” will be held in person April 12-14, 2023, at the Inn at Leola Village in Leola, PA and also streamed online. The Sweet Stevens presentation is the culminating session on Friday, and a highlight of the event.

Sweet Stevens attorneys began the tradition of presenting at the conference as a tribute to the firm’s founder Paul L. Stevens. Stevens had served as PAPSA’s legal advisor and conducted workshops on relevant issues until his untimely death in 2001. Since PAPSA established the Stevens seminar as an ongoing feature of the conference, it has consistently earned top ratings from participants.

The Paul Stevens Memorial Legal Seminar takes place Friday, April 14 from 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Managing partner Sharon W. Montanye will be joined by fellow partners Jane M. Williams and Thomas C. Warner to update attendees on court decisions, regulations and best practices, among other topics.

PAPSA is the only organization in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania specifically devoted to issues concerning pupil services programs in schools. Members of the organization have supervisory or administrative responsibility in fields such as counseling, health, psychology, home and school visitation, social work, special education, gifted education and student assistance.
