Sweet Stevens Attorneys to Present at Pennsylvania School Law Workshop

Two Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams LLP attorneys will present at the Pennsylvania School Board Solicitors Association (PSBSA) annual conference, to be held at Kalahari Resorts & Convention Center in the Poconos on Monday, October 7, 2024. The workshop will offer practical approaches and solutions for legal issues affecting public schools.

Senior Associate Christopher A. Bambach and Associate Kalani E. Linnell will present “Severe Behavior Under the IDEA” from 9:45-10:45 a.m. The session will take a deep dive into circumstances surrounding severe behaviors in students with disabilities and options for a school district’s response, which may include disciplinary action or student removal, and also the special education implications of excessive absences. This lively session will include discussion, case examples, and interactive polls and quizzes.

Bambach works with school entities in matters of special education and student services throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, representing clients at both the administrative and appellate levels.

Linnell advises clients in matters involving special education, student civil rights and operations/practices, and is especially dedicated to the issue of Title IX compliance, both its historic regulations and the impending new directives.

Formed in 1963 as a department of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, the PSBSA is among the nation’s largest and most active state associations of school attorneys.
