Van Blunk, Esq. was appointed to serve on the Commerce Court Task Force as a representative from the Civil Litigation Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (“PBA”).  The Task Force was formed by the Business Law Section of the PBA in the Spring of 2020 to work on the possible development of a state-wide business or commerce court, both at the trial and appellate levels. JEFFREY BRAHIN presented a seminar entitled “Confessions of Judgment – The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” at the 2020 PBI Real Estate Institute on December 4, 2020. This seminar was a comprehensive overview of confessions of judgment, including the drafting and negotiating of the cognovit clause, entering, and executing the judgment, petitions to strike and open the judgment, and appeals.
