May 1st is Law Day, a day to celebrate the rule of law in our society. Law Day 2017’s theme is the 14th Amendment and the Transformation of American Democracy. Shout out to BCBA members, Felicity Hanks, Denise Bowman, Kim Litzke and John Shaffer for dedicating their time to the 2017 Mock Trial Competition. The Bucks County Young Lawyers’ Division runs our county’s competition with assistance from the legal community. Bucks County is the only county that staffs the competition year after year with actual sitting Judges and attorneys from our community, thus giving our students a realistic courtroom experience. Robert J. Hastings, Esq.   Robert J. Hastings, Esq., a resident of Danboro for over 50 years, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at the Doylestown Hospital. He was 81. Robert was the loving husband of Kay (Magill) Hastings. Born in Delaware, Robert was the son of the late John and Rushia Hastings. Robert was a graduate of Penn State University and obtained his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Robert practiced law in Doylestown for many years. Active in his community, Robert enjoyed being past president of the Central Bucks School Board, serving for over 13 years. He
