JEFFREY BRAHIN will be presenting a seminar entitled “Confessions of Judgment – The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” at the PBI 2024 Real Estate Institute on December 6, 2024. This is the sixth time that Mr. Brahin has been invited to speak at the Real Estate Institute. The seminar is a comprehensive overview of Confessions of Judgment including the drafting and negotiating of the cognovit clause; drafting and filing the judgment; enforcement of the judgment; petitions to strike and open; substantive law; and issues on appeal. The course materials prepared by Mr. Brahin have extensive citations to both statutory and caselaw and include forms.
Mr. Brahin represents business, real estate and individual clients in litigation matters involving trade secret disputes, business divorce, breach of contract and collection matters, commercial and real estate litigation, commercial landlord-tenant matters, wage and hour litigation, evictions, mechanics liens, injunctions, and general civil litigation. He also assists clients in transactional matters such as entity formation, shareholder and partnership agreements, leases, finance documents, mergers and acquisitions, business and real estate purchases and divestitures, and contract drafting.
Mr. Brahin is co-chairman of the Bucks County Business Law Institute committee. He has been appointed by the Court to act as a special master in business disputes, as well as to the Bucks County Injunction Practices Committee. He serves as a Judge Pro Tem with the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Mr. Brahin also has an active mediation and arbitration practice in the areas of commercial litigation, contract disputes, significant personal injury cases, and commercial landlord-tenant matters.
