(PERKASIE, Pa.) Grim, Biehn & Thatcher of Perkasie, Pa., is pleased to announce that Erik Allgood and David A. Keightly, Jr. have joined the firm as full-time associates in the firm’s municipal law department.
Allgood, a Philadelphia resident, received a bachelor’s degree in News-Editorial Journalism from the University of Illinois, a master’s degree in education from Mississippi Valley State University, and a law degree from Penn State University. While attending Penn State, Allgood served as a law school ambassador, worked on the Penn State Law Review and was the recipient of the Penn State Law Writing Prize. Before joining Grim, Biehn & Thatcher, Allgood held various legal positions and internships. Most notably, he was a law intern for the City of Pittsburgh, where he worked on municipal, zoning, and land use matters.
Keightly, a resident of Perkasie, received his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and his law degree from Drexel University. Before entering private practice, Keightly was a prosecutor for the Bucks County Office of the District Attorney, handling a variety of cases from shoplifting to homicide. He was assigned to the Drug Crimes Unit, but also handled serious motor vehicle crash cases, ran the office’s multi-county Vehicle Theft Task Force for several years, and most recently helped establish Bucks County as one of the Commonwealth’s most successful agencies in investigating and prosecuting gun crimes and straw purchase activity.
In addition to handling jury trials, bench trials and other court appearances at all stages, Keightly wrote grants, was an instructor for police departments and other prosecutors, and created strong relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement partners. After serving in the Office of the District Attorney, Keightly worked at a law firm in Montgomery County, primarily focusing on criminal defense, but also handling various civil matters. With careful and constant attention to each client’s particular circumstances and needs, Keightly was able to help them navigate the legal system and achieve successful results in court.
Keightly received the Outstanding Prosecutor Award from the Pennsylvania Narcotics Association in 2017 and 2023. He is married and has two daughters. Outside of work, he coaches Little League Baseball for Deep Run and Pennridge, and serves on the Pennridge Youth Aid Panel.
“We are very pleased that Erik and David have joined our practice’s municipal department,” said Gregory E. Grim, CEO, Grim, Biehn & Thatcher. “They both bring a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to our firm. We know they will provide excellent service to our clients.”
