Partner Robert J. Salzer of Williams Family Law, P.C. recently took part in Hockey Helps, a 24-hour annual hockey marathon on Long Island, NY, to raise money for charity.
Held over Labor Day Weekend, the event raised over $500,000 for nonprofits that support the Hockey Helps mission to help individuals struggling with addiction or health issues and provide support for children and youth facing economic disadvantages, illness, and related hardships. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $4 million.
At the event, Salzer played alongside such former NHL greats as Adam Graves, whose number was retired in 2009 by the New York Rangers, and Stéphane Matteau, who scored one of the most significant goals in Rangers’ history during double overtime of game seven in the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals. Other professional players who took part in the event included Arron Asham, Benoit Hogue, Brian Mullen, and Colton Orr, among others.
Salzer has played ice hockey much of his life: as a child, recreationally in college, in a hockey club while in law school and, most recently, in a men’s league.
Salzer is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. A fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, he focuses on divorce, spousal support, child support, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and high-conflict child custody cases, especially those involving financially complex matters.
