Bucks County family law firm funds water table for runners at local 5K fundraiser

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (October 2017) – Bucks County family law firm Williams Family Law, P.C. was pleased to support a 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Kathleen M. Rotz Lung Cancer Research Fund.

Held at Tyler State Park, in Bucks County, on Sept. 30, 2017, the 3rd annual event sought to raise awareness and money for the work of the Dr. Evan Alley and his team at The Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine, which is focused on eradicating lung cancer through research, clinical trials and treatments. The funds from the run go directly to support Alley’s research on chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) T Cells to treat advanced stage lung cancer.

Alley and other professionals at Penn Medicine treated Kathy Rotz after she was diagnosed in 2012 with lung cancer. Never a smoker and with no particular lung issues, Rotz’s cancer diagnosis came as a shock to her and her family. After she passed away in 2014, they launched a cancer research fund in her memory, to support Alley’s ongoing research to end lung cancer.

“Williams Family Law was proud to support our friend Christopher L. Rotz and his family in their efforts to support research to discover a cure for this devastating disease,” said firm partner Robert J. Salzer.

Williams Family Law sponsored a water table at the 2017 run. In the past two years, the run has helped to raise more than $70,000 to fund lung cancer research in Kathy Rotz’s name at Penn’s Abramson Cancer Center. To learn more, visit the organization’s website.

Williams Family Law partner, Robert J. Salzer, and his son, Bobby, helped distribute water to participants in the 2017 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Kathleen M. Rotz Lung Cancer Research Fund, held on Sept. 30 at Tyler State Park.
