. The seminar focused on issues arising when employees are required to minimize employee hours and expenses during a business shutdown or slowdown, with options ranging from furloughs, reduction in hours or pay, as well as temporary or permanent layoffs. These options were presented in light of the Families First COVID Response Act, the WARN Act, the Federal Labor Standards Statute and various anti-discrimination statutes.
