Karl Prior elected to American College of Trust and Estate Counsel

Mannion Prior, LLP Co-Founder Named a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel

Mannion Prior, LLP is pleased to announce that co-founder and partner Karl Prior has been elected a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (“ACTEC”).

ACTEC is a nonprofit association of lawyers and law professors skilled and experienced in the preparation of wills and trusts; estate planning; and probate procedure and administration of trusts and estates of decedents, minors and incompetents. Lawyers and law professors are elected to be Fellows based on their outstanding reputation, exceptional skill, and substantial contributions to the field by lecturing, writing, teaching and participating in bar activities.

Mr. Prior concentrates his practice in Orphans’ Court and fiduciary litigation, including will contests, trust and estate disputes, and attorney fee and fiduciary commission matters.  He has served as an expert in, and regularly lectures and presents bench and bar seminars on fiduciary litigation, including evidence, expert testimony and standards of proof. He has tried numerous matters to jury verdict and bench decision in federal court, the Civil Division of Pennsylvania’s Court of Common Pleas, and in the Orphans’ Court Division of the Court of Common Pleas. He has also successfully argued in state and federal appellate courts.

Mr. Prior is a member of, and actively involved with, the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Bucks County Bar Association and Montgomery Bar Association. He and Mannion Prior maintain offices in King of Prussia and Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

A 1989 Georgetown University Law Center graduate, Mr. Prior is included in the 2018 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for Philadelphia in the area of Litigation – Trusts and Estates. From 2005 through 2017, American Law Media, Philadelphia Magazine, and the Pennsylvania Lawyer have named him a “Super Lawyer.” He has also been acknowledged as AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

For almost 25 years, Mr. Prior and his wife Theresa have lived and raised their family in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
