Faust Presents at Lehigh Special Education Law Symposium

Partner Andrew E. Faust of Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams LLP is back as a featured presenter at Lehigh University’s Special Education Law Symposium held virtually on June 19-24, 2022. Faust will reprise his popular session, “You Be the Judge: Dueling Attorneys, the Facts, and the Law,” on Monday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

“You Be the Judge” showcases a fictitious situation based on common scenarios in special education. Faust will be joined by Jennifer Laviano, a Connecticut attorney who represents parents in Special Education matters, and Ian Spechler, a hearing officer based in the state of Texas. Collectively, they will review the details of a case and share guidance as to the best course of action for both the district and parents. Participants of the workshop will have a chance to weigh in as well.

Faust is a widely recognized authority in the areas of special education, student services and child accounting, and student civil rights. He has represented school districts and intermediate units at every level of the federal and state judicial and administrative systems, lectured widely to audiences of educators and attorneys, and testified as an expert witness in court proceedings and before state and federal agencies.
