Curtin & Heefner Partner Bonnie Stein appointed as a member of the PBA Commission on Women in the Profession

Partner Bonnie Stein has been appointed annually as a Member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession since it was established in 1993.  The Commission analyze the current status of women in the legal profession and identify barriers that prevent women from full participation in the work, responsibilities and rewards of the profession.  Recommendations are made to the PBA Board  of Governors and House of Delegates for possible action to solve identified problems.  Members of the Commission develop educational programs to address discrimination against women lawyers and unique problems women encounter pursuing professional careers and mentor young women entering the legal profession.

Bonnie is a Partner and Co-Chair of the Litigation Section and of the Property Damage Section. Her areas of concentration include civil litigation with an emphasis in various aspects of insurance, including coverage and bad faith claims, first party property and casualty claims. Ms. Stein often assists individuals with disability and health insurance issues. Recognized as an authority in the fields of property damage and bad faith, Ms. Stein was defense counsel in many cases which have shaped the practice of bad faith case law in Pennsylvania. She has successfully tried cases for civil insurance fraud to verdict and has served as a bad faith expert. She has litigation experience in federal and state courts and is admitted to the United States Supreme Court.
